SIT STILL AND LISTEN

During my morning reading time, I came across this poem.  It speaks clearly to what I was thinking when I named this blog - the idea that we miss so many of the "whispers" that come our way because we are too busy - too bored -  too tired - too energetic -  too emotional - too hungry - too distracted - too happy  ............

I often wonder what pearls of wisdom we miss  - how many guiding thoughts we brush aside -  how many pieces of our own puzzle we leave out just because we do not sit still and listen....?????


              
There will be an invitation.
It will not come tied in ribbons
nor a message streaming down
from the sky.

There will be no Roman candles
sizzling
nor brilliant colors
exploding overhead.

Instead there will be a soft
whisper
in your ear,
something in a language
you once knew
and are trying to learn again.

In order to hear it,
you will need to
put down all your packages,
stop doing everything you are doing
and stand very still
then wait.....until something stirs inside.
